Awning Seam Repair

Repair and reinforcement of separated or deteriorated awning seams.

Close view of black awning panels and seams over a storefront entrance

Seams fail before fabric does. The thread sits on the outside of the panel where UV hits it directly, so on a ten-year-old awning the fabric can still be sound while every seam has gone chalky and started to open along the top edge.

We restitch or re-weld the seam depending on the material, then reinforce it so the same line does not open again next summer. Catching a single separated seam is a small job. Leaving it until three panels are loose is not.

What it covers

  • 01Separated, split and puckered seams closed and reinforced
  • 02UV-stable thread on stitched work; heat-welded seams on compatible vinyls
  • 03Surrounding seams inspected so you are not back in six months
  • 04Panel alignment corrected so the awning sits true again

Most awnings can be assessed from a couple of clear photos — one of the whole awning and one close up on the damage. Call or email and you will get a straight answer on whether it is a clean, a repair or a recover.
